This issue with the dual monitor setup in Vista has been bugging me a lot. The dual monitor is working fine except for one problem. I only have two options, either reboot the machine, or login to the machine from another machine using remote desktop.
As soon as I login using RDP, the monitor comes to life. I Googled for dual monitor related issues in Vista and followed through various suggestion including installing the latest ATI Catalyst video drivers, disabling turning off monitors in the power management settings and disabling Transient Multi-Monitor Manager TMM task, but nothing has helped so far.
Hey all gotta question, im running dual screen, graphics card GTX AMD anthlon 64 bit x2 dual core processor 6 gb ram When i play a game or play media sometimes one of my screens go fuzzy, i cant see anything on it, i can only fix it by turning it on 16 bit and back on 32 again, i usually have it set one sceen 32 and the 0ther 16, but whenever i exit the game, it causess this problem, is there a reason, or a way to make this stop?
Ps its only my primary screen that does it, the one thats usually set on 32, evin whem my second screen is 32bit, it never happens to it,. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
I have the same question 7. Report abuse. It just doesn't keep those settings after re-start. Any suggestions? Zstream Diamond Member. Oct 24, 3, Isn't that a known bug in vista 64 and 8.
Take a look at the driver notes I thought it was included. Wuzup Platinum Member. Feb 20, 2, 37 I had the same problem I ditched CCC and am currently using only my primary 24" monitor. All of the blue screens were caused by the same ATI. Hopefully the next revision will fix some issues. Aug 13, 2 0 0. Yah, at this point I pretty much tried everything. Basically it's as if the drivers do not allow my Acer monitor to be at any resolution but X in order to work with the Dell.
In fact, once Dell is active, all other resolution options disappear from the Acer display, it's as if it is locked at x as long as the other monitor is enabled. Not only does ATI not allow the monitors to work at proper resolutions, but CCC is acting completely unstable with dual monitors. Sometimes it would crash when trying to run a 3D app, or I would get a driver error on start up, sometimes it would load my color profile, sometimes it wouldn't.
At this point I went back to using single 22w monitor until ATI comes up with new drivers or I buy a bigger single monitor. One thing I gotta give to Nvidia is that their drivers and control panel are much more stable and better designed.
