Since most applications load into RAm I suspect that the speed difference will be more related to data intensive processes and the location of the data. I do know for a fact that the Ram in the gets allocated fairly rapidly once both Wifi and BT drivers are loaded.

At a certain point the decline in free RAm does have a marked impact on processing speed. Certain programs that push for installation in Ram like Microsoft Voice Command are real memory hogs, specially since they load their drivers at boot. But I ramble.
