Is this an original copy of the OS cd? Or is it a backup.

Sometimes backups will not have the info to boot on them. I cannot remember exactly what I did to get windows to change my drive letters but I think I had to boot from my original drive change the letter of the new one.

Boot from the new one change the original. Then boot from the original and change the letter of the new one. Then boot from the new one again. Even brand new computers turn on, begin updating, and then fail to reboot because of bugged updates. Windows 10 startup repair is a joke, I've seen it fix a boot issue ONCE out of hundreds of times since Win 10 came out. The problems aren't local either, they vary between different brands, laptops or desktops, etc.

The best answer I've found so far is what you suggested Loki: if you get a PC with Windows 10 on it, even brand new out-of-the-box, your best course of action is to wipe it and install your own clean version in a Legacy format vs.

And here's a hint: You know why Google does so well? I'm so tired of the Windows 10 updates screwing up programs. I use a Lexmark X scanner. I had no problems until Windows 10 update earlier this year. Then it stopped working. I don't want to buy a new scanner! This one is good. I ran it in Compatibility mode and all was good. Now another damn update May and scanner stopped working again. I have to go through troubleshooting and Compatibility mode again.

Also, I was able to connect to another computer in the same house, but that stopped working with the new update. Got to figure that out too. Then there's the problem with my games. Any content of an adult theme or inappropriate to a community web site.
