Or cast sweeping area effect spells like Hurricane or Starfall. If you hit an enemy player and then someone else kills them it counts for your kill total.
This type of strategy will work for any squishy caster type class. Comment by Jagno If you happen to ride through a Wondervolt machine on your Mechano-hog, your side car passenger will be flipped upside down and have their head clipping through the ground. Comment by deathmastar I would recommend using the tower cannons found in Isle of Conquest.
In one battle you can easily get 50 honorable kills without ever dying. Comment by Isle of Conquest is the easiest place. Stay in your keep, run up the stairs to the turrets and shoot anything that runs past. Got this achivement in 2 IoC battles and didn't die once. Comment by All i know is that as a DK im going to be DG-ing the ppl in the back trying to stay alive and get the acheivement.
Comment by Dreamsight Not sure if some1 has already posted this observation.. BB and Gad. Comment by Hairband Will update this post if I find the answer And if a BG is better, which one? Some are saying AV, some Strand. Comment by emilov Judging by all of the posts - it is not that hard actually : but being a druid i will give my share of experience. After 7 different BGs 3 ultra fast AV - just run and take the base with just 11 kills I got in WG while attacking and hid behind the big rock in front of the fortress.
Comment by Confirmed. Go AV and stay with the people. Help each other, because the other side can be rude, and they attack the gnomes first.
Main towers can be useful :P. Comment by Gotta say, I went to Isle of conquest, defended the keep in a tower gun.
I was done in 10 mins. I Qu'ed up in Dalaan, in case I needed to suit-up again, but there was no need. I got 1 kill once, and 2 kills in the next. Gave up and went to AB and got 35 kills. Comment by I tried AV but everyone was out for us 'wondervolt' peeps - followed another posts advice - went to Isle of conquest - ran upstairs to a cannon and just kept shooting So just stick around with groups of people like I did, and you'll be fine.
Comment by Isle of Conquest made this reaaaaaaal easy. Just follow along with the massive group, stay out of dodge, and rack up the HKs. I'm a feral tank and this is gonna be how I get it Comment by Regigo Running wild is not castable while under the buff from the machine.
Comment by Yet another costume that makes life horrible for all us druids. Comment by camimp 50, 61 Orgrimmar Just behind the flight master. Comment by Here's how to easy mode this achievement: 1. Get buff 2. Queue for Isle of Conquest 3. Jump in a cannon on top of the tower 4. I could have got more, but I didn't need them.
Comment by Jonny the new org machine is just outside the lift that leads up the mountain to the zepplin area. Comment by Beatnick Awesome post. Comment by Thecanman Sibrina Said: I agree.
I hate pvp and Blizzard always finds some way to drag me back into it. Holiday achievement? Violet proto drake! Be stressed out even more during the Christmas season by trying to survive while some sack of refuse tries to grief you. Thanks Blizzard! Merry Christmas! What FUN! Comment by I agree with the people who say to queue for Isle of Conquest; it's definitely the best place to get this achievement!
Never done this bg before, so I had no idea where the cannons were, so I just walked around trying to hide. First two runs I got 25 HK's, third, after finally realizing where the cannons are located, I got up to 47, then the the bg was over we one, go Horde!
Comment by I've been in 3 Isle of Conquest matches now, and I don't seem to get any HK's at all while in a cannon. Anyone know what the problem might be? Comment by julienpdx as a feral druid; this achievement is just plain unfair. Also, it doesn't exactly make sense since no matter what form I am in while in "Bruunhildar Village" the "blue lady village" in Storm peaks Comment by Noceo Locations Horde: The Winter Wondervolt the one that transforms you is found at near the flightmaster in Orgrimmar 50, If any has other locations, like for Alliance, let me know and I will try to update this post.
Comment by Ariamodasu Was really hoping they would cull the numbers a bit for this achieve. It's a pain in the ass if you're a shifter Which is painfully easy to do without thinking and they dropped the number on GNerds of all things that was already reasonably sane since you could hoard the damn things. If they insist we need 50 kills at least have a machine avaliable in the battleground.
Like most people I want it done and over with, not stuck waiting until it ends to go out, get it back on and return more so when I'm unlucky enough to end up in a string of fail matches. I do see mention of Tol Barad though hm, if it actually gets some traffic it might be a good way round it. Comment by Decruption easy as pie, costume machine is located near fly master in org buff last 30 mins, or gose if you die, que for AV or IC stand back and wacth.
Comment by Catdancing The machine is now located right by the flight point in Orgrimmar. My human gnomish engineer used her Ultrasafe Transporter: Toshley's Station and got the Transporter Malfunction debuff, turning her into a draenei for one hour. For as long as I had that debuff, the wondervolt will not transform me into a little helper. Worse, that debuff does not count down while logged out.
Comment by cremeen I had a hard time finding the PX Winter Wondervolt and thought others would have the same problem, it is located at cords 68,71 just north of Captain Lancy Revshon. Tried Isle of Conquest and got killed within a few seconds after spawning in. The buff goes away as soon as you die and there's no way to get the buff back until the next battleground. At least the gnerds one I could reapply within the battleground after I got ganked.
If there any more missing from thii list feel free to tell in comments. Not having the reaction time of a 10 year old I do not PVP so have not attempted this in previous years. I was nearly homocidal with frustration having waded my way through countless battlegrounds only to get wasted at 49 kills in AV.
Imagine my delight to see the achievement pop up after I died! This may have been a lag related glitch but it was very welcome - do not immediately release seems to be the message here. Pick Arathi basin over and over again. It's simple and small. If you do it over and over again, it feels familiar and you get an idea of what the other players do. This makes for less stress. Don't go into the thick of battle, hoping to get all your kills out of the way. Don't bother capturing the flag. Don't bother being in the forefront of people charging ahead.
And for the love of the FSM, do not go near the blacksmith. That's where most of the altercations are and if you are not a PVP person, you will die fast and lose the santa suit fast. I say this as a caster. If you are a protection tank, your mileage may vary. Pick a location not the blacksmith! I found the farm and stables to be good because there is a clear line of sight and I could see incoming opponents.
It may seem counterintuitive to stay out of the thick of battle where most of the kills are, but that's mitigated by keeping the santa suit longer. In my own experience, I tried a couple where I went into the middle of things, got 2 or 3 and then lost the suit. Then, I did AB and just stood at the farm. I made it through all but the last two minutes with the suit on and got 30 in that one go. Either IoC really is a godsend for this achievement and that startegy is the best, or I just had an extremely good group, which I don't really believe in a PUG bg.
Merry Christmas to you too, Blizz. If you're really bad at pvp, and insist on doing random bgs, try to follow around the toughest looking tank spec you see, and hit what they hit. Isle of Conquest : Turrets! Make sure you know if the opposing faction has a preference for their tactics so you know which side you should be on my battlegroup always does the exact same thing everytime, it seems both sides are agreed its just slower otherwise Strand of the Ancients : Turrets are still great, but Vehicles are even better since people are forced into a set path, dont forget to use both of your vehicle attacks, 1 is your long range AOE, 2 is a short range cone attack only things in front of you , with the rocky ground, sometimes you will be tilted at the right angle to shoot people while moving, keep an eye out for these occasions, and dont forget to wait for backup, a lone demo is a dead demo.
It is very possible to get all 50 kills required without dying in one SOTA battle if you are lucky, this one is the best in my opinion Also, it may be tempting to do the rest of the achieves while waiting on PVP queues, but remember that you will probably need to refresh the buff after the bg is over, and, for druids, dont forget, you cannot shapeshift while doing this achieve, it will cancel your buff. Comment by baredgara Since the addition of acct wide achvs, can I accumulate my 50 on multiple characters?
Comment by Kittytreets I had the best luck today in Eye of the Storm. I can see why others would like Isle or Strand for getting lots of honorable kills, but I did not have any luck with either of those. I would get about four or five HKs before getting killed the first time and obviously then the rest of the battleground is pointless toward the achievement.
Then you get a lot of people coming and going because they're trying to get the achievement so it really wrecks the battleground progress I queued up for Eye of the Storm because it's one of my two favorite battlegrounds and I got 20 really fast before dying the first time. Highly recommend that one. Mainly, I think it's because a lot of the time you're defending towers which means you stand there at a tower while others fighting for the flags make honorable kills that you can soak up for this achievement.
So, by defending the towers and following and defending the flag carriers, you're actually helping instead of "being away" and it's not boring at all. I did several battlegrounds today before trying Eye of the Storm and only had about 18 when I went in the Storm and then only had to do it once more to get the achievement. I think the reason the others didn't work too well for me is because it's easy to get spread out and end up getting overwhelmed by the opposite faction.
Or because you get into the battleground when it's half finished which means you're all alone at the starting point I was pretty raged a couple of times because of that hehe. Hope this works for some others! I was pretty frustrated but now happy it's over haha! Good luck! Comment by JM The easiest way to do this achievement now is to do it on a low level toon.
I tried it on my 90 druid, and gave up after two BGs. But since achievements are account wide now thank you Blizzard, thank you I just hopped on my something Hunter and breezed right through it. Took me four BGs total. Just a few helpful tips, dying does remove the buff, so ranged classes and classes that can heal themselves or take a lot of damage are best. Changing forms also removes the buffs, so no druids unless you're a healer, and no shammy ghostwolf.
The Obsidian Nightwing mount or any mount that you actually transform into also removes the buff. I learned that the hard way, and wasted 20 minutes in a BG without being able to advance on the achievement. I managed to stick close to a group of people and have a pocket-healer on me. Since the achievement is only HK's you don't have to do the Killing Blows yourself, you could in theory simply watch your opponents die fifty times.
The best battleground to farm this is Alterac Valley, no doubt. You can gain alot of HK's here, taking into concideration you don't loose the buff. Good luck, and Merry Christmas! Comment by Arshley For warlocks, entering a battleground will pop you out of.
Casting Dark Apotheosis again will break the Winter Wondervolt buff. Consider switching specs if you use. Comment by leoulaikorgath Easy peasy. Get buff. Comment by Myriell i suck at pvp. Because i learned, that u dont have to give any damage, to get the kill. I know this might be a little unfair to my party, but i am NOT of any use in pvp. Comment by sinnie Heya, kiddies! First time posting here, so please be gentle! I read all of the comments here about the best bgs to do for the cheev; I ended up in several IoC battles in which I didn't gain a single HK, despite having faithfully manned womanned?
In Alterac, I was able to glean loads of HKs just via proximity to other players it felt good to actually be able to help my peeps in melee, as well. It took me about 4 or so Alterac excursions to get the last 30 HKs I needed. Hope this helps, and good luck! Comment by alkemist Got this done relatively easy doing Isle of Conquest as a resto druid.
Being 40 vs 40, heals can hang back and do their job while getting HK's. However as a resto druid, you have to make sure not to use any shape shifting forms. It will break your costume and then it's all over. Took me 2 tries to complete. Found it easier to follow the zerg group that hits the center.
Comment by SSlaughter wow cant someone just say how to be a winter helper? Comment by Xintho I found an amazing way to farm these. They require the help of a enemy faction member on your realm or someone on another realm if you have a 90 on both factions. If you know someone on another realm all you need to do is invite them on your opposing faction toon has to be 90 and just log off.
You friend is to head to the Timeless Isle and go to a graveyard there. The least occupied one seems to be the one due north of the Celestial Court and just to the left of the entrance of the Cave of Spirits. Have your friend take off all of their gear and just kill them at the graveyard. There is no "honorless" debuff on the Isle so if they just release and wait the 30 seconds or less for the Spirit Healer to rez them then you can just kill them again.
You can knock out all 50 kills in the time it takes for just one of your costumes. There is no need to wait the 2 minutes for the resurrection timer to expire and no debuff to deal with.
Comment by Barleduq I wanted to add this to the page for the Winter Wondervolt machine itself, but apparently there isn't one.
If you have the Dressed to Kill buff on from Blingtron, the machine will not turn you into a santa elf. It's not that you get the buff but your appearance doesn't change -- nothing changes at all. Comment by sorceressdee Isle of conquest is by far the easiest way to get this. I got more than 50 in one Isle. Comment by driscollblood I get high with a little help from my friends Racked up 15 honorable kills before I got ganked and lost my disguise buff. Happy DoTing. Comment by erafune I can imagine there are a lot of interesting stories surrounding this achievement, but I just thought I might share my story anyway since it's quite an unfortunate one.
For the short version - just skip to the end lines. For other classes this would be just another achievement. For me it was a race against the clock and my own anxiety. I have played WoW for about 24 months spread over 6,5 years, but have only ever played two, yes 2, class specs above level Which obviously is on a single druid. Have never played balance or restoration.
Never even shapeshifted into boomkin form. And I find battlegrounds chaotic. I cursed blizzard for doing this to druids. And cursed myself for playing such a limited amount of characters. I was forced to farm resto gear to be of any use in a battleground. Since shapeshifting removes the "little helper" buff and healer druids are the only non-shapeshifting.
Well I guess you can hug a tower cannon as a non-shapeshifted feral and still be of use, but I didn't know about that possibility at the time. So I manage to farm the honor needed for full honor gear. Not a challenge with the honor per 45 min from faction heroes in Krasarang Wilds. Got some cheap but functional gems to fill all gem sockets, mostly stamina and resilience for survivial, since dying removes the "little helper" buff until you can reapply it outside the bg.
Isle of Conquest didn't have that option. Yada yada. So anyway I kept delaying the spec switch for as long as I could. I really didn't want to do this. The show itself was born out of the need to play after being on Covid lockdown, but also served as the reason to build this new band. Right out of the gate this group gelled and dug deep into the new and old Toto material. Being a massive fan and a good friend , I dedicate the performance to him. Played to perfection by the new cats.
The Toto model holds strong and true. A band of the very best musicians and singers writing and performing all manner of cool songs. And, of course discussion about the show as well. In the meantime, enjoy a little Toto history and current events. Xo Joe. Luke and Joseph Williams are life-long friends since they were kids, and bandmates sharing a deep colorful history that has thrived professionally on a global basis over the past decades.
There is a refreshing, optimistic enthusiasm to step in to the future. At this moment, Joe and I are the only long-tenured members of the band that want to be on the road continuing to bring music to our multi-generational fan base. Our creative partnership has always enriched our lives.
People are either not with us anymore or have retired. We still feel like kids who want to be back on the road as soon as possible. The timing of this move is perfect as Joe is at the top of his game, and he amazes me every day.
